More and more people are beginning to see the advantages of owning a caravan. When traveling long distances with a group, it is certainly more comfortable than just riding a car. Because of the increase in the number of caravan owners, there also more choices on the type of caravan insurance to get.

You can insure anything that is of value to you. You have your house and car covered. Some even have their body parts insured. As long as there is perceived value, you may be able to get. So, why should you not start considering getting one for your RV?

A caravan does not come cheap. You have to invest quite a lot of money. Because of this, your vehicle could be the next target for looters. No matter how big, if it can be moved it can be stolen.

There are several approved security devices that you could install. This is one way to lower the chance that your RV will be stolen or broken into. But, the danger of that happening is not completely eliminated. In the event that these devices do not discourage looters, you would have expenses to take care of to use or replace your RV.

That is only one of the reason almost all owners have a policy that offers them their needed coverage. Choosing the right one takes time. But it will be something worth having when the time comes that you need it.

For some curious onlookers, looking at it from a distance is not enough. Maintaining a safe distance to appreciate your vehicle is difficult for some to do. Others may even resort to boredom. Maybe because they like it too much or they were just bored.

The damage could range from a scratch to a dent on your door or worse. When this is not covered and this happens, you will surely wish you were.

Choosing the right policy and coverage could make you save on unnecessary expenses. The premiums could considerably be lesser than repairing your trailer. Or, it could even be lesser than getting a replacement.

The type of caravan insurance you get would depend on what you do with your vehicle. The type of coverage you get would also depend on where you take your vehicle. Determine which type your need by doing comparisons between different providers. You could also compare the different types of services offered by one provider. Do a chart or read on the reviews and complaints. Choose the best way for you to decide on one. The sooner you do, the better it will be for you as an owner.

Locate more about caravan insurance by going online. Learn if you need to have caravan insurance

Caravans are by definition camping vehicles, either static or touring. They have evolved from basic rudimentary units to sophisticated self contained cottages on wheels and as such need to be covered by proper caravan insurance. They can be motorized or towed by autos for transport to a variety of wilderness sites or permanent locations.

Early campers enjoyed roughing it. Today a person’s idea of rouging it may entail not having enough beer in the fridge or having the shower emit water that is not quite hot enough. Caravans are equipped with all the creature comforts a person would ever desire.

Caravans are available in a variety of sizes, models and price ranges. Risks to be insured against are theft, vandalism, liability and property damage as well as accidents that may occur on the road. Coverage can vary by class and age of the caravan. Consider the on board equipment and replacement values of the vehicle as well as the contents.

Insuring caravans has become big business. Companies who insure autos offer plans for campers. They might be the first contact when looking for coverage. The internet has become a good resource for both researching companies and investigating on line insurance providers. In either case, competitive quotes should be requested and then compared. There are a number of camper or caravan clubs that offer good rates to club members.

Look for policies that fill specific needs. Seek out a policy that offers coverage that meets individual requirements. Talk to fellow campers about their insurance recommendations. Ask potential insurance agencies for recommendations and options that will fill specific needs. Compare apples with apples when making a choice. Distinguish between cheap and value. Take the worry out of ownership by protecting the investment.

There are ways that can help save money on premiums. Buy good anti theft locks for the trailer. Install locking devices on the steering wheel of motorized campers and install and subscribe to one of the satellite tracking services. Advise your insurer that these items have been installed. When storing the caravan, do so in a safe, lighted, fenced and guarded storage facility This can help bring down the cost of premiums and help contain costs and help caravan vagabonds become happy campers.

Covering a camper with full insurance for the entire year may not make economic sense. Consider lesser coverage when the trailer is in storage. This is especially true of mobile units that have higher costs for protection because they are subject to accidents or damage while on the road. Once a coverage plan is in place resist submitting claims for minor damages losses or face possible premium increases.

Caravan insurance | caravan Insurance is one of the most important things that you should get in your life.

Some people use caravans as places where they can enjoy life away from their real homes while others make them their real homes. Whatever you use your mobile home for; the law requires that you have caravan insurance. It will let you live in serenity knowing that your property is covered.

Just like with all other types of property, there are reasons why you will be safe by getting this kind of insurance. One is that you get paid if your mobile home gets damaged by stray animals or malignant vandals. You will also not have to worry if your caravan causes injury to a third party since the compensation for injuries is made by your insurance provider.

If you use the mobile home as your permanent home, you can also include some other things in the coverage such as the fence and the patio. You need to state them in the coverage and get to know on what basis damage done on the items is covered. It is also good to know how much you get for each of the items after they suffer damage.

For mobile homes used for traveling purposes only, you need to cover all the things that you will be carrying with you so that you are protected from incidences such as accidents, which might ruin the items. With this, you have to make a list of the items you will be carrying with you and their serial numbers so that you are able to claim if anything is damaged or stolen. Most of the time, this will be electronic equipment.

Most people neglect their mobile homes and will have the anticipation that nothing wrong can happen to their property. However, no one can predict the future and you might have a fire or thugs breaking into your mobile home. Just to keep out of the pain of having to get another mobile home, you can consider getting an insurance cover, which protects you.

It is possible for you to get coverage that you can comfortably afford. You can get such coverage if you have a clean driving record because it will enable you to pay lower premiums. The other thing that you can do is place your mobile home is a safe location. Insurers will consider it less risky to insure your property and you can get cheap coverage in this way.

It should not hurt when you have to pay for the caravan insurance. You cannot neglect the importance of having this coverage because it might save you a lot of pain later. If you consider the fact that you probably have all of your other property insured inclusive of your jewelry then your mobile home should also have some protection from uncertainties.

Caravan insurance is one of the biggest factors to consider when considering purchasing a caravan. Coversure are a leading provider of caravan insurance and can offer you advice, or a quote to insure your caravan

Caravan Owners are not checking their holiday insurance documents to see if they are covered by the disruption caused by volcano eruptions. This Easter saw the elevation of caravan holidays to the status of “most convenient”.

It was an extremely satisfying feeling, pulling my caravan home under clear, aeroplane-free skies and not worrying in the slightest about whether my insurance covered me against volcanic eruptions happening in far off countries. As a caravan lover, I felt vindicated. The next time someone says that towing caravans is slow and holds up the roads, remind them of the time back in Easter 2010 when a caravan could get from anywhere in Europe, to nearly anywhere else in Europe faster than the average plane.

Also, the “cramped and claustrophobic” conditions that so many people associate caravans with seemed like the most luxurious and spacious of interiors compared to a hotel lobby or a space on an airport floor.

Of course, between those of us who understand the beauty behind caravan holidays this is all irrelevant. We each like doing our own things in our own leisure time, and how boring would the world be if we all liked the same things? However, the reason for this little gloat is that people who, as a rule, don’t do caravans, tend to make fun of those that do, and we rarely, if ever reciprocate.

So, although I didn’t incur any of the costs and inconveniences that the aeroplane fan-club did this Easter, I did have some additional costs, and not the kind that you can insure against either.

I took the latest edition of Caravan Magazine with me on my travels because we are thinking of buying a new caravan soon and we had planned to read all about the cost of our next purchase, but ended up reading their insurance survey. It seems after reading this survey that because I couldn’t be bothered to buy my insurance through a broker, I overpaid for it by quite a lot. If you are looking to get cheap caravan insurance it would be well worth shopping around because there were loads of comparisons in Caravan Magazine and I was quite surprised by some of the results.

If you are looking to take out caravan insurance, but want to make sure you get the best deal possible, you should visit Coversure. They are an insurance broker with excellent relationships with providers and can always secure a great deal on touring caravan insurance or static caravan insurance.

Caravan insurance is available for both touring and static caravans, which means that no matter what kind you own you will be able to get ample coverage. In order to choose the coverage that is right for your needs I would like to tell you how to choose your insurance and of course what it will give you cover for.

The first thing you will need to think about is whether your caravan is to stay in one place or if it is a touring one that will be taken all over, this will greatly affect the type of insurance you need and your premiums. Think about the items you will be keeping in the caravan in the long and short term so that you will be able to give prospective insurers an idea of how much coverage you need for personal belongings.

Static caravans tend to also have outdoor furnishings and awnings added and as they are easily removed by dishonest people you will want to make sure that they are covered by your insurance also. You should ask your insurer whether this is something they will provide and of course ask at what cost.

If your caravan was to be stolen then you need to decide whether you want to be covered so that you can get a new caravan for your old one then you may have to pay extra on your policy, however it will be worthwhile if you can afford it. You can also get a policy that will pay out the current value of your make and model of caravan.

It is worthwhile making sure that you have caravan coverage. This will ensure that should any accidents occur, whether on the road or when the caravan is static that you will be covered. It will also make sure that your belongings are covered whether you are at home or away.

The coverage is also great for those who live in their caravans full time. This is because it is usually harder to secure your caravan in the way you can a house or apartment, so you will want to make sure if there are any losses you are able to claim them back.

Caravan insurancecaravan Insurance is one of the most important aspects that you can get in this day and age. There are tons of benefits that you can find when you get this kind of Insurance.

If you are anything like me, your getting on a bit and you probably think you’ve seen the last of your summer music festivals with sweltering and uncomfortable tents as your only place to sleep. However, if you’re still into your music (I particularly like early 70′s bands like Soft Machine and Caravan) then you could always bring your motorhome (or someone else’s) along to a music festival and enjoy the music and the atmosphere without the rough sleep under canvas. You can listen to Caravan in your caravan!

What many people have found with the motorhome route that you get the best of both worlds really because you can enjoy the atmosphere of the festival and of course the live music, but you get a cup of tea every morning, there are no queues for toilets and showers and you have a comfortable, dry bed to sleep on every night!

Many motorhome owners who aren’t into music festivals and the like have been known to rent out their motorhomes to people who are so that they get some money from their dormant motorhome, and someone else gets to enjoy a music festival in comfort. However, while this is perfectly legal, most people don’t realise that if something was to happen to their motorhome during the event, it would not be covered under a standard motorhome insurance policy.

I remember seeing a couple at Glastonbury last year, blissfully leaving their motorhome in the sunny early hours of the morning having breakfasted under the awning, only to return late at night to find that one of Glastonbury’s famed monsoons had filled the awning with water causing it to twist, break and generally be ruined, That’s about 1000 worth of damage and all uninsured if the vehicle had been hired out without the authority of the insurance company.

If you are thinking of letting your motorhome go to Glastonbury or any similar music festival this year, is well worth thinking about insurance.

If you’re not going yourself, it is probably best to start by loaning your motorhome to friends or family rather than people you don’t know because adding friends or family to an existing insurance policy is by far the easiest way to go. So you can watch the festival from the comfort of your own home, safe in the knowledge that your motorhome is being looked after and even if it isn’t, you’ll know you have the right insurance to cover it.

If you are looking for motorhome insurance then you should check out Coversure, they are among the best providers of all kinds of vehicle insurance providing everything from basic car insurance to caravan insurance

Chester Cooke was excited by the prospect of buying a caravan on the banks of the River Avon, not far from Stratford, on a professionally run, well maintained and gorgeous site with lots of amenities. Being a diligent kind of chap, he looked into all of the potential issues, after all you can’t be too careful with the thick end of twenty grand plus annual service charges, which didn’t include insurance for some reason.

So he then called his broker and said that he was looking for some caravan insurance. His broker then told him that that shouldn’t be a problem and he would be more than happy to get him a quote. So Chester gave his broker the details of the caravan and where it would be situated.

A few minutes later, the broker called Chester back and said that unfortunately he was not able to find any insurance companies that would offer him insurance, not because of the caravan itself, or even the site that he had chosen, but it was to do with the exact spot that he had chosen. It was right on the bank of river Avon, which had flooded the year before, causing a massive number of insurance claims on the grounds of water damaged property, and so now insurers were very wary about insuring caravans that were right on the water’s edge. This meant that if Chester really wanted the caravan, and he wanted it right there, it would have to be at his own risk.

This news meant that Chester could not have his caravan exactly where he wanted because it was quite likely that the Avon would flood again at some point in time and he could not afford to have a caravan there without it being insured. He asked his broker about other “normal criteria” for caravan insurance so that might continue pursuing his plans to buy a caravan.

Ideally the site should be a registered CaSSOA site. There are insurance discounts for these because they have minimum standards of security. If the caravan is to be sited more informally, on a farm for instance, the caravans on the farm should be in their own compound with a defined perimeter. Some insurers insist that there are a minimum number of caravans on the site, safety in numbers as it were. Finally Chester should look for a site with good security, a mature hawthorn hedge or palisade fencing marking the boundaries.

Chester hadn’t thought that insurance would be such an important consideration when he was buying his caravan. He was grateful that he had a knowledgeable broker who could give him all this education and he was definitely going to check it all out again before finally taking the plunge and buying a caravan. After all, he just wanted to enjoy his caravan and the insurance was only to take the worry out of the ownership.

Caravan insurance is one of the biggest factors to take into consideration when considering purchasing a caravan. Coversure are a leading provider of caravan insurance and can offer you advice, or a quote to get your caravan insured

There is a rather oddly titled album by the 1970′s rock band Caravan called “For Girls Who Go Plump In The Night” now I know that this is not the kind of thing you would expect an insurance man to be writing about or even to know, even if he does own one (a caravan I mean!) An insurance man in a caravan is quite possibly not that uncommon, but an insurance man in a caravan listening to Caravan? Surely Not?!

I’m not sure what got me thinking about this subject; I think it was looking back at some photographs of last years Glastonbury festival and noticing, in one guise or another, just how many caravans were there. Obviously as an insurance man I was thinking about their insurance cover and whether or not the underwriters were actually aware just what they were being used for.

Caravans were being used for almost everything you can think of that needs a sturdy shelter, i.e. people were living in them, some were being used as resting places for tired musicians, some were being used for paid showers and some were being used shops by refreshment vendors, and I still mean proper caravans, not mobile catering units.

Over in the camping fields there were caravans sheltering security staff from the rain, acting as the temporary weekend home for ageing rockers (some may have even been fellow caravan fans who knows?) and as the meeting point for lost festival goers.

Some of the bands use caravans too of course. Great big ones with one extra wheel at the front for steering the things for a start. They use them for changing in, partying in and well, all of the other things that bands do although I’m not certain that Caravan ever used one, that’s too good to be true isn’t it? Caravan in a caravan listening to their debut album (yes that’s right called “Caravan”). Perhaps they even went along with their friends in a convoy – a caravan of caravans including a caravan with Caravan in it listening to Caravan!

Anyway as I said, I started thinking about whether or not they had the correct insurance cover and let’s face it, they probably didn’t did they? If you’re thinking about taking your caravan along to a festival this year it’s worth thinking about proper insurance. A caravan can get damaged by careless fellow festival goers, it can slide off of its own accord into the mud, they can get flooded inside, catch fire, get blown away and, well, almost anything can happen. Luckily you can insure your caravan against most things – even collisions with uninsured caravans being used as tea shops!

Coversure are one of the country’s leading providers of caravan insurance if you are thinking about taking your caravan to a place where it would be even remotely at risk, you should think about taking out some caravan insurance, this will set your mind at rest when you leave it to go and do what you really want to do.

I read in Insurance Times recently that the financial Ombudsman had decreed that it would, in certain circumstances, back a policyholder against an insurer excluding claims for leaving keys in or near a car. I can’t help but wonder if the same would apply for a motor home. As an insurance broker, I almost feel that this story is not one to publicise.

So the family and I had rather a late night in our motorhome playing cards and so we were all quite tired when we eventually turned in for the night, meaning that the next morning we were already late for our arranged meeting with our friends and fellow motor-homers the Wilsons. Then came the usual morning commotion, the queue for the shower and the breakfast rush, then by the time we were ready to leave our friends had decided to explore the countryside without us.

I then realised I couldn’t find the keys so the whole family got together and we searched to motorhome high and low. With my usual patient and calm demeanour I accused each family member of stealing the keys, which was followed by more accusations of half-hearted searching for the keys, before finally accepting my son’s story that aliens had come from mars and stolen the keys. So I then went to get my phone from the cab so that I could call my insurance company for help. I was stranded in a field with a miserable family and to make things worse, it was about to rain.

There in the middle of the cab, sitting next to my phone, were the keys! I couldn’t believe that I’d left the keys to my beloved motorhome in the cab. Being an insurance man I couldn’t help but wonder if my motorhome would have been insured if it had been stolen under those circumstances. And so my mind drifted back to the Insurance Times article.

If my motorhome had been a car the ombudsman would have considered

Location

Was I in a position to deter a thief

Was I recklessly ignoring the risks

Mitigating factors

Whether I knew about the exclusion in the insurance policy

I would like to think I would have been given this kind of consideration as well with my motorhome. I would say you have a much higher chance of getting a comprehensive insurance deal to cover any situation if you go through an insurance broker.

For a leading service in motorhome insurance contact Coversure.
