Paradise-like destinations abound in the Pacific. And while you explore Hawaii, do not leave out the other islands, such as Maui, Oahu and Kauai. Appropriately, this one is named the garden island. Before your Kauai travel, be sure to map it out, avoid muddy roads, and stay on course. The roads well-traveled are better to stick to, although, contrary to popular belief, one does not need a four-wheel drive to travel these islands.
Produce kiosks are strategically placed around the region, with farmers selling their crops, such as bananas, mangos, lemons, papayas, limes and lychee nuts. The villagers are friendly and eager to please the vacationers.
And the fish is not to be forgotten, either. Freshly-caught, for your eating pleasure, the eateries cater to the traveler with fine, unique recipes. You will find that the Mahi Mahi has a taste that resembles whitefish, such as tilapia or flounder. The Ono fish has white meat, and a slightly sweet, light taste. Ahi means fire in Hawaiian, and this is one of the best used for sashimi.
Amongst the many tourist sites is Waimea Canyon Drive. The road leads upwards, twenty miles up, and the changes in weather will astound you. From desert like, hot conditions, to a cooler, forest climate. It is truly something for the visitor to experience!
Conducive to the locale spa atmosphere, there are spas outdoors as well as indoors, creating a very natural feel. A wonderful one, called the Anara, is set in a park-like area surrounded by flowers.
Your best bet for your sight seeing adventures would be to travel by car. You can rent one at the Lihui Airport, or for more reasonable rates, you might want to go to the outer towns, like Lihui or Princeville.
And when it comes to car insurance, you might feel like you are being talked into an additional policy that you may not need. Check your own private one. It may cover rentals, and you will save money by not having to purchase more that is not needed.
Other than that, enjoy the breathtaking views and other tourist sites, which are very obviously marked on the roadways for your convenience. And do not worry about the rain, it will always leave a lovely rainbow!
